A noun that denotes male or female, is called gender. In this part, we will study:

  • Masculine Gender - A noun that denotes a male, is called a masculine gender. For example, man, boy, etc.

  • Feminine Gender - A noun that denotes a female, is called a feminine gender. For example, woman, girl, etc.

  • Common Gender - A noun that denotes both male and female, is called a common gender. For example doctor, student, teacher, professor, child, etc.

  • Neuter Gender - A noun that denotes neither male nor female, is called a neuter gender. Non living things are mostly of neuter gender. For example, wood, fan, house, etc.
